Abortion “Ethical or Unethical” In my paper I will argue on why I feel that abortions are unethical and why they should not be allowed. As you are reading this paper I really hope that I don’t start to contradict myself. Let me begin by saying there are several different reasons why abortions should be prohibited. The first reason why I feel that abortions should be prohibited is because of religious laws.

The bible says that “thou shall not kill”. By aborting babies we are disobeying god and we are breaking the six of his ten commandments. I am a very religious human being who tries to live by the book.I won’t say that I base my ethics on religion, but I will say that it does play a major role.

I think that killing other human beings is wrong and I feel that it’s very unethical. Killing someone who can’t even speak up nor have any say-so about the decision of whether they will live or die is what makes abortion so unethical A major reason why some people think that abortions should be allowed is because some people believe that a fetus is not a human, so therefore it would be moral to kill something that was not human. First let me give you the definition of an abortion. An abortion is when a pregnancy is terminated and a fetus is eliminated from the uterus.

Is a fetus a human would be the question. Well let’s just look at the facts. Some people feel that a fetus is not a human until it can live outside the womb. They feel that ones the fetus becomes a person that it when it have rights. I totally disagree I feel that fetus becomes a human once they are conceived and the mother is aware and acknowledge of the fetus. The reason why I say that is because once the fetus is present on day 22 the fetus heart begins to beat and can be recognized.

Around the third week the baby develops a spinal column and nervous system also the babies’ liver, intestines, and kidneys begin to take their form. Really it is so very easy for something as simple as an egg and sperm connect to make a human. I found that so amazing and with that being said why would someone want to destroy it. No matter what anyone says Abortion has been a controversy for decades. I feel that abortions are unethical and sometimes they can really put the mother life in danger as well. While researching this topic I have discovered that most abortions really don’t go good and sometimes can result to death for the mother.

Abortions can cause complications in future pregnancy such as reproductive disease, spontaneous miscarriages and so on. I know people tend to make the wrong mistakes everyday, but I just feel like an abortion should be unacceptable. I feel that it really violated my morals. I really can’t speak for everyone else, but I really feel as though it should be abolished.

I feel that everyone was put on this earth for a reason. Some was by choice and others were not.I feel that no one should have their life taken away from them before it even begin that is just very inhumane. I know people have their own reasons to abort such rape, incest and other unplanned pregnancy, but I feel that they are other options. There are so many other options that human have besides abortions, but I also guess that a person’s decisions is about their morals and what they believe is right.

No two people are alike and each is entitled to their own opinion. Now when looking at abortions I feel that people have to be very open-minded and look at this issue form different perspectives, which I have.A person who has gotten pregnant by rape or anything that resulting in pregnancy with out the women’s consent may not feel as though they do not have options. These types of people may feel that their options were taken away from them. Question: Who wants to raise a child up by someone them barley knew or hate? I guess that’s when this issue goes back to morals and issues. What’s morally correct when a mother decides to abort her child? When it comes to abortions should a woman have the right to do as she pleases with his body? My answer to that question would be no.

You would probably think that if she didn’t it would violate some kind of right of hers. In 2010 more than 600 measures were presented to the legislature to lessen abortions. There are two primary positions to abortions. There is Pro-Life, which means you are against abortion and then there is Pro-choice which mean you are for abortion.

Have you ever ask your self which one are you? Most may feel that abortions are okay, but only due to certain situations. When I hear the word abortion I’m kind of disgusted, but I do look at it from all stand points.Lets take a look at this situation if a women was pregnant through rape would you want t o keep the child. For one I would look at it like a total stranger and then who wants to raise a born that was produce through being taking advantage of. I really think that that is a hard decision. We have all kind of Pro- choice members who try to convince people that abortions should be banned.

Personally I feel that abortions should be banned because o the other options such as adaption. I strongly feel that an innocent life should not be taken because of something committed by sin. There are a lot of states who banned abortion and feel that they are unethical, but at the same time there are still some states that feel if a woman wants an abortion than should be able to get me due to fundamental rights protected by Roe vs. Wade. Those rights ables a woman to make her own decision while bearing a child. As you may not know all states believe that abortions are a crime, but all states do not decree of abortion illegal.

Roe vs. Wade was determined by the Supreme Court in 1973. The Congress mad the decision that the Constitution protected a woman right to have abortion during their first trimester of pregnancy. So basically it indicated that it is not illegal for women to have an abortion during the first trimester. Even though after researching this issue I still fell that it is wrong and anyway you look at it another life is still being taken away. Abortion has increases within the last 20 years tremendously.

Anti abortion organization such as Operation Rescue and Rescue America have protest actions against clinics and physicians that have performed these procedures. Anti abortion groups act with the fervor of absolute moral conviction. (Baird & Rosenbaum, 1993).On March 17, 1993 an anti-abortion named Michael Griffin activist killed a Dr. David Gunn who performed abortions at a Pensacola, Florida clinic.

When interviewed by the reporter Mr. Griffin pleads his defense and uses the Holy Bible as main source. Some feel that Griffins justification was no different than Dr. Gunn killing fetuses.

As you can see abortion is a very sensitive subject, but who can justify whether it is wrong or right. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I think morals have a lot to do with it. The Supreme Court made had decisions with abortion: Planned Parenthood of Southeaster Pennsylvania v.Casey, Roe v. Wade, and Webster v. Reproductive Health Services.

Planned Parenthood of Southern Pennsylvania v. Casey Roe was when the Supreme Court decided that a women’s consent is necessary before having the procedure done and that she is educated on certain information a day before the abortion. It also mandates that a parent would have to giver their consent in order for minor to have the procedure done. Now if women is married and wants to have an abortion she would have to sign a statement advising that her husband had been notified. In this case the husband would be considered as the emergency contact. The second decision is Roe v.

Wade which was made in 1973. This decision made abortion legal during the first trimester of a pregnancy. This decision was based on the residual of privacy. There were two cases for this decision. The first one came from a woman who lived in Texas and was not married. In Texas if the mother life was in jeopardy it was legal.

The second case was a married woman who lived in Georgia. In Georgia abortions were not illegal if permission was given by doctors and officials of the hospital. This decision allowed states interfere with the women’s second and third trimester to protect the unborn child. Last, but not least is the Supreme Court decision of Webster v.

Reproductive Health Services which was decided on July, 3, 1989. The Webster v. Reproductive Health Services was pertaining to a case in Missouri case. When the decision of Roe v.

Wade came about which gave the women the right to choose the Supreme Court looked at it from a different perspective based on the degree at about which state can have limitations on abortions. By example advising which stage can fetus abortions are give? There are several different types of abortion techniques. The first one I would like to elaborate on would be the Instrumental technique (Menstrual Extraction). A women’s pregnancy is measured is measured by the weeks when they receive their last period. (LMP) is the method that medical professionals would use to calculate the weeks. Menstrual extraction is the extraction of the uterine contents before pregnancy is confirmed.

Menstrual extraction is also called “do-it-yourself”. The only tools that are use for this procedure is a flexible cannula and a syringe
