Part 1
Tantalus serves Pelops at a banquet to test God’s knowledge, and the curse begins.
Tantalus is killed and punished
Pelops marries Hippodamia
Has two children: Atreus, Thyestes
Atreus and Thyestes quarrel over succession
Thyestes fathers Aegisthus
Atreus kills Thyestes sons and serves them to him
Atreus marries Pelopia and raises Aegisthus
Aegisthus is ordered to kill Thyestes but instead kills Atreus
Atreus’s sons Agamemnon and Menelaus take refuge with king Tyndareus
Tyndareus cursed to have unfaithful daughters because of a poor sacrifice
Tyndareus marries, has Castor and Clytemnestra
Leda, seduced by Zeus, and has Pollux and Helen
Menelaus marries Helen (cause of Trojan War)
Part 2
Agamemnon marries Clytemnestra, has Iphigenia
Agamemnon has to kill his daughter (Iphigenia) as a sacrifice to Artemis
Agamemnon tells Clytemnestra that Iphigenia will be marrying Achilles
When Iphigenia arrives, she is slaughtered by her father (Agamemnon)
Clytemnestra starts plotting death of her husband
Helen courted by all great Greek men
Tyndareus makes suitors swear to protect Helens choice and honor
Helen kidnapped by Paris
Greek heroes go to rescue her
Aegisthus seduces Clytemnestra takes control in Argos
Agamemnon returns home 12 years later and is murdered by Aegisthus and Clytemnestra
